New world record set by Skysisters
Jumpers at the Skysisters 2007 Symposium in Australia have set a new world record using BIRDMAN wingsuits. Tanya Cale (Oz), Linn Mikkelborg (Norway), Cath Comyns (Oz), Conny Van Setton (Holland), Susie McEvoy (Oz), Cecilia Morton (Oz), Lorraine "Quiche" Duff (Oz) and Elaine Cox (Oz) set the record for the ‘largest all female wingusuit flock’ in the beautiful skies over Ramblers dropzone in Toogoolawah, Australia.
Raising the skill levels of all the wingsuit pilots, they worked on building the flock size up during the week and managed to build a fantastic looking 8 way, gaining some amazing media coverage all around the world.
A massive congratulations to you all from everyone here at BIRDMAN for your hard work and dedication, resulting in the realization of your dreams, and achieving a new world record. Well done!
Dates for your diaryBIRDMAN big way boogie – 3-8 July 2007 Cochstedt, Germany
 This is the big one! If you fly a wingsuit, you have to be there. Jumps will be made from an AN72 Jet aircraft from 16,000ft all week over an unused international airport. There will be world class coaching and load organising, available for all skill levels, from the BIRDMAN factory skyflying team Top Gun and BIRDMAN Chief instructors, Rolf Brombach, Scott Campos, Mark Harris and Jari Kuosma. We’ll be working on increasing both skills and safety in the air, progressing through the week to a WORLD RECORD attempt on the Saturday for the largest number of wingsuits to exit a single aircraft. I. Go Fast BIRDMAN boogie and competition – 12-15 July 2007 Kapos, Hungary
 The Hungarian BASE and skydiving club are organising the first international wingsuit event in Hungary. The event will take place in Kapos and there will be free first flight courses, free demo suits and world class coaching. As well as fun laid back flocks, there will be a competition to find the flattest flying angle of the competitors. The winner will be decided using GPS data taken from the averages of three jumps.
There are loads of BIRDMAN prizes up for grabs including t shirts and discounts off products. Registration is free, but places are limited. For more information check out the events page of www.bird-man.com
International wingsuit competition – 3-5 August 2007 Marl, Germany
 Dubbed the BIRDMAN Air Race, this event will cost you 24 Euro to enter, which isn't bad considering they have a 5000 Euro prize purse, the largest of any wingsuit competition in the world. First prize is a brand new custom BIRDMAN Blade wingsuit!
The competition will be spread across 3 rounds in two classes, an open class and a women only class (Women may also compete in the open class), with the prizes going to those with the longest free fall times. For more details and to register check out www.fallschirmsport-marl.de
Luigi soars past ChristResidents and visitors to Rio de Janeiro witnessed something never seen before when BIRDMAN sponsored athlete Luigi Cani flew his BIRDMAN S6 wingsuit within two meters of 'Christ the Redeemer', atop Corcovado Mountain.
"This was the most exhilarating flight I've ever experienced," said Cani, who literally skimmed the bushes after flying past Christ the Redeemer. In spite of being so close to the ground, Cani maintained flight long enough to get to a location high enough above the ground to deploy his canopy. "It was almost miraculous," Cani said, "I truly felt a greater power was watching over me."
"I am hoping that the imagery captured during this flight will convey the sense of freedom, emotion and awareness of everything around you; especially when you only have control over certain elements in life."
After more than a year! of planning this event, Cani was able to fly in his BIRDMAN S6 wingsuit, past the statue, which stands 38 meters (125 feet) atop the 710 meter (2,330-foot) tall Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city and its world renown beaches.
BIRDMAN would like to congratulate Luigi Cani on once again making history by continually pushing the boundaries of what we can do.

 BIRDMAN tour updateThe tour is going really well and we’re getting to meet some really amazing people. While in Switzerland I met Yves Rossy and put him in my BIRDMAN Firebird before making some jumps over the beautiful snow covered Swiss Alpes. He absolutely loved the suit and the jumps were fantastic. We’re now off to Belgium and then Luxembourg. Hope to see you there!

BIRDMAN Top GunThe team have been out and about around Europe this month offering coaching and load organising at several events including the first Top Gun weekend in the UK at Skydive Hibaldstow. The team were made to feel very welcome and we were able to make loads of coaching jumps and a couple of first flight courses.

Macca, the newest addition to the BIRDMAN flock, as our PR and marketing coordinator, got married to Jude on a beautiful sunny day in the UK June 1. We all at BIRDMAN want to congratulate you both from the very bottom of our hearts and wish you all the best now and in the future. Jude is of course a stunning birdbabe and has a number of BIRDMAN flights. Welcome to the family.
