March 2007
|
| WelcomeWelcome to our March 2007 newsletter. The skydiving season is coming to a close for some, just beginning for others, and for the lucky ones, it never stops – only changes its environment or discipline. In this issue we have some really cool news and exciting things going on.
What about our fellow birdman, stuntman and gentleman Luigi Cani making a 120-mile per hour leap into the Grand Canyon on his motorcycle!
Same but different when our sponsored swoop team, the Performance Designs Factory Team (PDFT) leaped into the same Grand Canyon with their PD Velocities and BirdMan S.6s.
We will also give you the first glimpse of our new team BMBC, whose mission is to climb, jump, and do just about anything totally and utterly crazy in-between. We will give you a little preview of the video from them…and this is only the beginning.
We also have some historical video footage of the first two wingsuit/canopy docks between Vladi Pesa and myself. This is the first time it’s been available online for public viewing.
And last but not least, we are happy to introduce our official BirdMan Blog where you can read about all of this and much more in a relaxed manner.
C'ya up there!

Go Fast athlete Luigi Cani flies into the Grand Canyon with the blessing of the Navajos. Riding a Suzuki GSX-R 600, Cani launched into BIRDMAN wing-suit flight over the Navajo Indian Reservation, Grand Canyon, Arizona, and then finished with a picture perfect BASE deployment.
Mr. Nate Wessal (Professional BMX Rider) supervised construction of a custom 1/4-mile suspended plywood track to a dead end at a 2,000-foot cliff. The track was suspended between 3 and 6 feet from the rough desert floor--there would be no safe exit from loss of bike control.
Fighting 25 degree Fahrenheit temperatures, ... more..
